The city of Gulcho, located in the Alaï district of the Osh region, is preparing to launch a large-scale project concerning the construction of a sewage system and the upgrade of the drinking water supply network. This was announced by Mayor Nursultan Tajibaev, emphasizing that the funding will be provided with the support of the World Bank on a grant basis.

According to Tajibaev, the project includes a complete upgrade of 55 kilometers of drinking water supply lines, as well as the construction of a new sewage system and treatment facilities. The estimated cost of this work is about 600 million soms.

The start of construction is scheduled for the fall of 2026 or the spring of 2027. The new sewage project will cover the central area of the city, including Kurmanjan-Datka, where the construction of multi-story residential complexes is planned in the future.

Gulcho received city status on September 25, 2025, becoming the 34th city in Kyrgyzstan. Currently, the population is 23,601 people, and the area of the city is 35 hectares.

- 340 million soms for the capital repair and construction of roads;

- 110 million soms for the creation of a new kindergarten for 100 places;
