Kyrgyzstani Athletes Won Medals at the Ivan Yarygin Cup

Two representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Dilnaz Sazanova and Nurzat Nurtayeva, won medals at the international women's wrestling tournament known as the Ivan Yarygin Cup.

According to information provided by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic, the competition took place from January 29 to February 1 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

Dilnaz Sazanova became the silver medalist in the weight category up to 62 kg. On her way to the finals, she managed to secure victories over Kyrgyzstani Akylai Chynybayeva and Russians Anastasia Sidelnikova and Ekaterina Oleinikova.

In the final match, Sazanova faced Ok Ju Kim from North Korea, who is a silver medalist at the Asian and World Championships in 2025. In this bout, the Kyrgyz athlete lost with a score of 2:12, which allowed her to take second place in the tournament.

Additionally, Nurzat Nurtayeva brought home a bronze medal in the weight category up to 72 kg, confidently defeating Russian Kristina Bratchikova, the 2025 European champion among athletes under 23, with a score of 6:0 in the match for third place.
