Sazanova competed in the under 62 kg category, which started with 16 participants.
In the first stage, in the round of 16, she won against her compatriot Akylai Chynybayeva, and then confidently defeated Russian athlete Anastasia Sidelnikova in the quarterfinals. In the decisive match for a place in the finals, she faced Ekaterina Oleinikova from Russia, where she also emerged victorious.
