XXV Deaflympics in Tokyo Concluded: Kyrgyzstan Won Six Medals

The XXV Deaflympics, dedicated to the centenary of the Deaflympic movement, concluded in Tokyo, Japan.
This year, over 3,000 athletes from 81 countries gathered for the competition, competing in 19 sports.
Kyrgyzstan presented 18 athletes in disciplines such as freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, taekwondo, judo, and table tennis. As a result of their performances, Kyrgyz athletes won six medals: two gold and four bronze.
The gold medals were won by:
Smadiyar Jumakadyrov in Greco-Roman wrestling (60 kg) and Adilet Japar Kulov in freestyle wrestling (74 kg).
The bronze medals were awarded to:
Dinmukhamed Bigeldiev (Greco-Roman wrestling, 67 kg), Nart Abdrakhmanov (Greco-Roman wrestling, 97 kg),
Baisalbek Orozali uulu (judo, 60 kg) and Azamat Mavlonov (taekwondo, 80 kg).
The Deaflympics represent the largest international sporting event for athletes with hearing impairments. They are held every four years and are recognized by the International Olympic Committee. The history of the Deaflympic movement began in 1924 in Paris, and its unique feature is the complete management of the games by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD).
This event took place in Tokyo from November 15 to 26, concluding the celebrations for the centennial anniversary of the Deaflympic movement.
