Kyrgyzstani Islam Bayalinov won gold at the Open Masters Games

At the Open Masters Games 2026 held in the United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyz judoka Islam Bayalinov won a gold medal.

According to the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic, the competition began on February 7 in Abu Dhabi.

Islam Bayalinov, who is also the head coach of the women's judo team of Kyrgyzstan, competed in the under 73 kg category and started the tournament from the quarter-finals.

The 40-year-old athlete managed to secure four consecutive victories over opponents from Kazakhstan and Brazil, which allowed him to take first place.

It is worth noting that at the end of January, Islam Bayalinov also participated in the Kyrgyzstan Championship, where he became a silver medalist.
