The athlete from Kyrgyzstan, Aiperi Medet kyzy, achieved success at the international ranking tournament in sports wrestling held in the Albanian capital, Tirana.
On February 28, in the weight category up to 76 kg, she demonstrated impressive and confident wrestling throughout the day of competition.
Aiperi began her path to the gold medal in the 1/8 finals, where she secured an early victory over the Kazakh athlete Gulmaral Yerkebayeva with a score of 12:2. In the quarterfinals, her opponent was Vanesa Georgieva from Bulgaria, against whom the Kyrgyzstani left no chances, winning 10:0. The semifinal also ended with a confident victory: Aiperi defeated Elmira Yasin from Turkey with a score of 14:0.
The final match was particularly significant, as her opponent was Genesis Reasco Valdez from Ecuador, the reigning world champion. In a tense battle, Aiperi managed to clinch the victory with a score of 5:4.
It is worth noting that these athletes had previously met in the final of the 2025 World Championship, where the Ecuadorian wrestler emerged victorious. In this tournament, Aiperi was able to take revenge, winning the gold medal, which became a significant achievement for the Kyrgyzstani athlete.
