According to the representative office of the president in the Osh region, the official opening of the "Nowruz–2026" games was attended by the deputy representative of the president, Talant Arstankulov, as well as representatives of the Kök-Börü Federation and other heads of relevant departments.
As part of the celebration, republican championships are being held in the main types of national sports:
- kök-börü (goat pulling);
- at chabysh (horse racing);
- er enish (horse wrestling);
- salburuun (comprehensive hunting games).
The competitions opened with a kok-boru tournament, where more than 10 teams from all corners of the republic are competing for victory.
The final part of the celebration and the determination of winners in all sports disciplines will take place on March 21, on the day of the holiday itself.
