From March 20 to 21, 2026, an international ITF taekwondo tournament was held in Shymkent, where Kyrgyz athletes successfully won 29 medals. According to the federation, about 500 athletes from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan participated in the competitions.
Our country was represented by 50 athletes.
In the individual competitions, the Kyrgyz team showed excellent results, winning 5 gold, 10 silver, and 14 bronze medals.
In addition, in team events, Kyrgyz taekwondo athletes demonstrated high achievements:
- 1st place in team sparring among juniors aged 16-17
- 3rd place in team sparring among junior girls aged 14-15.
