According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, the income of national parks in Kyrgyzstan increased by 105% in 2025.
The total revenue from tourism activities amounted to 37.7 million soms, which is more than double the results of 2024 (+19.3 million soms). These figures are considered record-breaking for the financial sector of the country's protected natural areas.
Tourism and its dynamics
Throughout the year, state reserves and parks were visited by 271,254 tourists, indicating an almost 24% increase in interest in ecological routes.
Tourist geography
The core of the sector is domestic tourism, with 250.5 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan participating; however, there remains a stable interest among tourists from CIS countries and other states.
Control and compliance with regulations
With the development of ecological tourism, control over compliance with environmental legislation is also being strengthened. Over the past year, 139 violations were registered, resulting in damages of 1.1 million soms.
The majority of incidents (70%) relate to violations concerning vegetation. Currently, funds for 78 cases have already been recovered into the budget, while the others are in the stage of judicial proceedings and administrative processes.
