The Ministry of Nature of Kyrgyzstan reports an impressive increase in the revenues of specially protected natural areas (SPNAs), which grew by 105% over the year.

By the end of 2025, the financial and operational indicators of conservation areas reached record levels. The total revenue from tourism amounted to 37.7 million soms, which is more than double the level of the previous year (+19.3 million soms).

Visits. Throughout the year, state reserves and parks attracted 271,254 visitors, reflecting a nearly 24% increase in interest in ecotourism.

Tourism. The backbone of the sector remains domestic tourism, accounting for 250,500 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, although there is also stable interest from tourists from the CIS and other countries.

Optimization. The significant increase in revenue against the backdrop of a moderate rise in visitor numbers indicates that tariff policy has been optimized and collection administration has improved.

Environmental Safety. Along with the development of ecotourism, control over compliance with environmental legislation has been strengthened. Over the year, 139 violations were recorded, with total damage amounting to 1.1 million soms. Most incidents (70%) are related to violations in the protection of plant life. To date, funds have already been recovered in the budget for 78 cases, while the others are in the stage of judicial and administrative proceedings.
