BALLROOM DANCE
The ballroom dance was created by the People's Artist of the USSR Bibisara Beishenaliev based on the folk Kyrgyz movement style to the music of S. Germanov.
The dance consists of two figures, performed over sixteen measures. The musical meter is 2/4.
Description of the Dance
The dancers are arranged in a circle in pairs, facing forward along the line of dance. The young man stands to the left of the girl. The dancers are in the third position, with the right foot in front (see Fig. 257).

First Figure
1-4 measures
The dancers perform "movement 1" making six steps forward and at the end of the 4th measure on the counts "one, 'and', 'two', 'and'" they perform "movement 2". In the first three measures, on the count "one" of the first measure, the right foot steps forward onto the low demi-pointe, while the arms are raised to waist level (see Fig. 258). On the count "and", step forward with the left foot, the left arm is extended to the side as if indicating the open fields; the right wrist rotates and rises closer to the chest, then rises up and lowers down. While performing the movement, the torso leans forward, and the head turns to the left. The young man's hands are on his waist, and his head is turned towards the girl.
5—8 measures
In the first two measures, that is, the fifth and sixth, the dancers repeat "movement 1", moving forward in a circle. The young man looks at the girl, with his hands on his waist.
7—8 measures
The girl raises her left hand above her head, with the wrist lowered, the right hand is extended down to the side, and the torso is slightly tilted to the right; the young man's right hand is extended forward, and his left hand is on his waist (see Fig. 259). The dancers turn away from each other in different directions with "movement 3", and the wrists rotate. At the end of the eighth measure, the dancers return to the starting position (see Fig. 261).

Second Figure
1—4 measures
The young man takes the girl by the waist with his right hand and supports her extended left hand with his left hand. The girl raises her bent right arm above her head, with the wrist lowered. The heads of the girl and the young man are turned towards each other. The movement begins with the right foot. On the count "one", they step forward with the right foot to the right side.
On the count "and", step forward with the left foot to the right. On the count "two", repeat the step with the right foot forward — to the right. On the count "and", the left foot is brought to the right with a light tap of the toe on the floor. While performing the "side" movement, the girl lowers her raised elbow at the end of the 2nd measure and, turning her palm backward towards her partner, shyly covers her face (see Fig. 260), the torso slightly tilts to the right, and the head turns to the left. In the third and fourth measures, the movement is repeated to the left, starting with the left foot. At the end of the fourth measure, the girl raises her bent right arm above her head again (see Fig. 261).

5—8 measures
With "movement 4", the dancers spin in place, starting with the right foot to the right for two measures and then the same to the left, and at the end of the eighth measure, they make a stomp with the right foot. The movement begins with the first figure. During the dance, the rotation of the wrists continues.
