KYRGYZ LYRICAL DANCE (KYRGYZDYN NAZIK BIYI)

The Kyrgyz lyrical dance is a solo dance performed by one dancer. Its heroine is a lively, cheerful girl, and the movements of the dance combine depictions of labor processes and elements of folk games (horse riding).

The dance consists of three parts. The movements are performed energetically and vivaciously, yet playfully and flirtatiously. In the first part of the dance, special attention should be paid to the changes in hand positions, especially the wrists. The middle part of the dance is based on a combination of steps and changes in hand positions and body bends. Performing these movements requires softness and lyricism. In the finale of the dance, the movements are performed joyfully and cheerfully.

The Kyrgyz lyrical dance was choreographed by M. Asylbashev to the music of Sh. Termechikov.

COSTUME OF THE DANCER

The costume consists of a dress, a vest (chypytama), and a hat (topu). The dress is made of white silk. The sleeves are long, flared, with a slit. The length of the dress is nineteen to twenty centimeters from the floor. The vest is elongated, in deep colors (dark green, dark red, purple), made of velvet. The edges and hem are embroidered with Kyrgyz patterns. The headgear is a hat made of white fur with a velvet top in the color of the vest, adorned with a tuft of owl feathers on top. The hair is braided into four braids. The shoes are white pumps with a medium heel. On the chest, there are beads, and on the arms, bracelets and rings.
