Children's Musical Theater "Taberik"

"Taberik" - Song and Dance Ensemble of the Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren named after K. Jakypov
On April 6, 1957, the administration of the Frunze Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren decided to unite the disparate circles into a song and dance ensemble of the Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren named after K. Jakypov.
In 1990, the collective was renamed the Children's Musical Theater "Taberik".
The ensemble trains more than 500 creatively gifted children aged 4 to 17. The repertoire includes over 80 choreographic and vocal numbers of various genres and styles. The theater employs 30 teachers. The ensemble has many awards: medals from the USSR VDNH, the Lenin Komsomol Prize, the title of "Exemplary Children's Collective," and prize-winning places and Grand Prix at numerous international children's festivals.
Over the years, the children's musical theater has established itself as one of the best collectives in the Central Asian region. For participation in All-Union children's creative competitions, international youth festivals, and gatherings in Artek and Orlenok, the theater was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize and the title of "Exemplary Children's Collective".
The collective's archive contains the Diploma of Laureate of the XXII World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow, Grand Prix, and various other awards and diplomas from participants in various international competitions and festivals.
"Taberik," which has successfully hosted the so-called Presidential New Year celebrations multiple times, participates in all city and republican events, organizes citywide youth celebrations, and takes part in charitable actions, such as concerts in orphanages, nursing homes, and charitable performances for orphans and children with disabilities.
Every year, "Taberik" sews more than a hundred new costumes for young performers of songs and dances; new decorations and stage designs are ordered, as the children present premiere performances twice a year: musicals, shows, and fairy tale journeys.
The undeniable merits of the Children's Musical Theater have also been recognized abroad: We have participated in international children's festivals in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Oman.
In 2001, the Coordinating Council of the Public Organization "NSM" and "Taberik" developed a concept for educational and upbringing work with adolescents, which aims to increase the level of awareness and education of youth in the areas of morality, politics, healthy lifestyles, human rights, and ecology. This theme, dictated by life itself, resulted in projects that directed the energy and talent of children's creativity into useful activities. This work connected the educational collective with a large child audience. Musical and choreographic performances on AIDS prevention for high school students, "About This..." and "AIDS Doesn't Sleep," were created. At the Opera and Ballet Theater, these performances were attended by 40,000 schoolchildren from Bishkek and its suburbs. The project on the prevention of iodine deficiency diseases was prepared in the form of an instructive musical revue. 18,000 schoolchildren and teachers from Bishkek and the Chui region attended these performances at the Russian Drama Theater.
To create performances, the Public Organization "NSM" attracts young volunteer specialists (directors, artists, poets, composers, fashion designers, actors). Their contribution to the creation of performances is significant, as they are talented and full of enthusiasm, and work in city theaters is not available to everyone. The Public Organization "NSM" gives them the opportunity to express themselves, realize their ideas, and convey them to a large and grateful child audience.
"Taberik" strives to expand its audience, is interested in cultural exchange, and therefore will gladly respond to offers for creative meetings or invitations to festivals.
