And so our latest trip to the Carpathians has come to an end. The snowy winter Carpathians are beautiful. Only here, on the snow-covered peaks of the Carpathian Mountains, did we feel the full grandeur of Ukrainian nature. This is the state of soul that we have been searching for so long, and we found it only here - among the mountains.
The Ukrainian Carpathians may not be the highest mountains in the world, but they are definitely the most beautiful! A piece of them will forever remain in our hearts and memories for a lifetime. We will always remember the pure Carpathian air, the spring water, truly "alive" water, which refreshes and quenches thirst, and the endless snowy forests and pastures stretching into the distance. This is true harmony between us and nature. Therefore, perhaps we will always strive to return here again and again.
The idea, like most of our good ideas, was born instantly, as soon as we read the article by the head of the ALP Project, Tanya Senchenko, titled "Two Days of Skiing Winter."
It was this article that inspired my wife and me to prepare for a skiing holiday in the village of Pylypets in the spring. Spring, as we know, is the best time of year for skiers: ski resorts are empty, there are more places to ski, and there are no queues at the lifts at all.
The preparation took us a whole year. We planned to go to the Carpathians at the end of February 2014, when it would be warmer, but there would still be snow. And our plans came true. We traveled as a trio: my wife and I - snowboarders, and my wife's friend Olya - an ambitious lover of EXTREME recreation in the mountains.
As we prepared to ski down the snowy slopes of the Ukrainian Carpathians, we had to answer three questions:
1. What to ski on?
2. Where to ski?
3. Where to stay?
To jump ahead, I will say: the holiday turned out to be wonderful. Therefore, if our experience in organizing a winter holiday can be useful to someone, we will be very happy. As for us, the invaluable experience that the mountains gave us will remain unforgettable and useful in the future.
