At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 21, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed concern about the financial initiatives of universities, which he believes may negatively impact the higher education system. He noted that a business related to class attendance was recently shut down, but there is now a sharp increase in prices for contract-based education. Additionally, educational institutions have started charging fees for each credit.
“What are the regulatory acts under which universities create additional sources of income? These issues are of great concern to the youth,” Bekeshev addressed the representative of the president and the Cabinet of Ministers in the Jogorku Kenesh, Almas Abytov. The deputy emphasized that the current situation could lead to the destruction of higher education in the country.
