Chui University
Chui University (ChU), formerly the Republican Higher College (RHK), was established by a Government Resolution on December 1, 1992, based on the Republican Center for Intensive Language Training "University".
The university is a private self-financing institution and prepares specialists with higher education, awarding the academic degree of Bachelor in banking, taxation, accounting, law, and philology (English, German, Russian, Kyrgyz languages).
The founder and rector is Sultan Mambetkaliev, a Distinguished Worker of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, an academician of the International Personnel Academy and the International Turkic Academy.
Jalal-Abad Commercial Institute
The Jalal-Abad Commercial Institute (JACI) was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on April 1, 1993, as one of the first non-state universities and is currently a specialized institute of economic profile in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan.
JACI is financially independent and self-sufficient. Its economic foundation consists of tuition fees, its own production and commercial activities, and financial support from the founder and international funds.
The institute prepares specialists in 10 areas and specialties across 4 faculties.
The founder and head of JACI is Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Toktomamatov Kantoro Sharipovich.
Bishkek Financial and Economic Academy
The Bishkek Financial and Economic Academy (BFEA) was organized in 1992 and is a higher educational institution specializing in the fields of economics, finance, accounting, management, and tourism services.
The main focus is on applied economic knowledge necessary for specific practical activities.
The highest governing body of the academy is the Board of Founders.
The rector is Abdrakhman Subankulovich Mavlyanov - a Distinguished Worker of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Academy of Tourism
The Academy of Tourism was established in 1997 as part of the Government program for the priority development of tourism in Kyrgyzstan.
The founders of the Academy are the State Committee for Tourism, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the World Tourism Organization.
The goal of the Academy is to prepare specialists capable of organizing their own enterprises and managing personnel in the field of tourism and service.
In the departments of "Management in Hospitality" and "Management in Tourism," specialists are trained in organizing service, tourist trips, foreign travel, and receiving foreign tourists.
The Academy's program combines the educational process with practical training in leading tourism service institutions in the republic and abroad.

International Academy of Management, Law, Finance, and Business
The International Academy of Management, Law, Finance, and Business was established in Bishkek in 2000 based on the Kyrgyz Academy of Cooperation (rector - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Zhekisheva S.J.).
The Academy prepares highly qualified specialists in modern economic, legal, and information technology programs.
Currently, the rector of the academy is Professor Nazarbatova Kasiira Mukashevna.
Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic named after Major General of Police E.Aliyev
The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on January 15, 2002, based on the Bishkek Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the aim of creating a unified system for multi-level training of highly qualified specialists, managerial and scientific-pedagogical personnel for internal affairs bodies.
The Academy concentrates the main potential of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, conducting scientific analysis of current problems of public order maintenance and crime fighting, and improving law enforcement activities.
The organizer and first president of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is Lieutenant General, Professor Ishimov Beksultan Bekmoldoevich.
International University "Atatürk Alatoo"
The International University "Atatürk Alatoo" was established with the assistance of the Turkish company "Sebat," which has 30 years of experience in the field of education.
The university is a private educational institution and was opened on April 15, 1998, with the participation of the Prime Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
The educational programs are prepared in accordance with world standards based on the programs of universities in Kyrgyzstan and other countries.
The university has three faculties: the Faculty of New Technologies, the Faculty of World Languages, and the Faculty of Economic and Management Knowledge, where specialists are trained in 10 specialties.
The first rector of the university was Associate Professor Mehmet Shahin, followed by Professor Kudret Katar. Currently, the rector is Doctor of Sciences, Professor Ibrahim Hasgür.
Batken State University
Batken State University was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on July 25, 2000, and prepares specialists in 22 faculties across 39 specialties: educators, engineering technologists, economists, lawyers, energy specialists, mechanics, and agricultural specialists, among others.
Student training is conducted in Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek, Tajik, and English languages.
The rector of the university is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Abdurassulov Ilimidin.
Kyrgyz-Kuwaiti University

Kyrgyz-Kuwaiti University was established by the decision of the Founding Conference of the Public Association of the Kyrgyz Branch of the International Charitable Organization "Society of Social Reforms" (1999).
Kyrgyz-Kuwaiti University is a non-state secular educational institution.
Education is free, and the form of study is full-time.
KKU prepares specialists in three areas and seven specializations: translators, teachers of Arabic language and literature, lawyers, and journalists.
The university employs qualified specialists from Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Mauritania, and Iraq. The discipline "Arabic Language" is taught by native speakers of the language - volunteers from Arab countries.

Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic

The Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic A.A.Akaev on June 12, 2001, its regulations and structure were approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on September 3, 2001.
The main areas of activity of the Diplomatic Academy include the training and retraining of specialists in international relations for work in representations of foreign states, international organizations accredited in the Kyrgyz Republic, government bodies, and non-governmental organizations; citizens of CIS member states and other foreign countries based on treaties and agreements.
The rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is Kemelbaev Nurgazy - Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic.
University of Friendship of Peoples named after A.Batyrov
The University of Friendship of Peoples (UFN) named after A.Batyrov was established to meet the needs for intellectual and cultural development, acquiring higher education, and qualifications in professional activities.
Training and retraining, as well as professional development of personnel at the university, are carried out on a contractual basis.
The university has three faculties. The Faculty of Economics and Law prepares specialists for economic and managerial activities, the Pedagogical Faculty trains specialists in the fields of computer science, mathematics, and pedagogy, while the Medical Faculty trains doctors in the specialty "Medical Affairs".
Training lasts from 3.5 to 6 years.
The organizer and president of UFN named after A.Batyrov is K.A.Batyrov.
Talas State University

Talas State University was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on July 25, 2000, based on the Talas branches of: KGPU named after I.Arabayev, KGUSTA, Kyrgyz Agricultural Academy, and Talas Agricultural Technical School.
The university has six faculties (Pedagogical, World Languages, Technical, Economic and Legal, Ecology, and Agricultural Sector) that prepare specialists for the region in 32 specialties.
The organizer and rector of the university is Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor Omurbekov Torobek Bokonbaevich.
Academy of Management under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic
To ensure the training and retraining of managerial personnel actively involved in the development of market transformations and the implementation of civil service reforms, the Bishkek International School of Management and Business was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in 1992, which was later transformed into the Academy of Management under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Academy of Management is responsible for the educational-methodological, scientific, and informational-analytical support of state authorities, as well as the training, retraining, and professional development of civil servants, economic and managerial personnel.
The Academy of Management includes the Institute of State and Municipal Management, Bishkek International School of Management and Business, and Bishkek Financial and Economic Technical School named after A.Toktonaliev.
The Academy of Management is an active member of the Association of Business Schools of the Central Asian Region (CAMAN), the Resource Network of Universities of Central Asia (RNEBE), and others.
The organizer and first President-Rector of the Academy was Professor Ashyrkulov Misir Ashyrkulovich. Currently, the President-Rector is Academician Kutanov Askar Asanbekovich.
Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University
Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) was established in 1993 based on the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation. According to the intergovernmental agreement, the university is a joint state higher educational institution of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic. The curricula are based on the educational standards of both states. Graduates receive diplomas of state standard from the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.
The university has faculties: Natural and Technical, Economic, Legal, International Relations, and the Faculty of Construction, Design, and Architecture.
The organizer and rector of the university is Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Nifadyov Vladimir Ivanovich.
International University of Kyrgyzstan

The International University of Kyrgyzstan (MUK) was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on March 11, 1993, and is a state university with the status of international, autonomous, and self-governing.
At MUK, education is conducted according to the international credit-hour system in the fields of: economics, management, commerce, law, international relations, computer science and computing, ecology, systems analysis and management, foreign language and literature, state and municipal management.
MUK is a member of the World Association of Universities and Colleges (WAUC); European University Association (EUA); Federation of Universities of the Islamic World (FIWU); International Association of Universities and Faculties of International Relations of partner universities of MGIMO; Global Alliance for Transnational Education (GATE); Association of International Education (EAIE).
The organizer and President of MUK is Academician, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Aydaraliev Asylbek Akmatbekovich.
Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas"
At the initiative of the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey A.Akaev and S.Demirel, the Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas" was opened in 1995 in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
A multinational team of faculty members was formed from among the most qualified specialists from Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
The university has 4 faculties and 2 higher schools that prepare specialists in 13 fields. Students from 9 countries study at these faculties and schools. Master's and doctoral programs have been opened.
The organizer and rector of the university is Professor Moldobaev Karybek Moldobaevich.
American University in Kyrgyzstan

The American University in Kyrgyzstan (AUK), opened in 1997, is a higher educational institution in the region of Central Asia and the CIS that operates according to the American model - based on the credit-hour system, according to the American curriculum.
AUK offers education in programs such as Business Management, Economics, Sociology, Law, Software, International Relations, Journalism, Psychology, Anglo-American Studies, and Ethnology of the Kyrgyz. Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport, and Architecture
Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport, and Architecture (KGUSTA) was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in 1998 based on the Kyrgyz Architectural and Construction Institute (KASI, 1992), Bishkek Architectural and Construction College (1930), Bishkek Automobile and Road College named after K.Kolbaev (1957), Issyk-Kul Industrial College (1986), and Kyrgyz State Art College named after S.A.Chuykov (1939).
Specialist training at the university is carried out according to a multi-level scheme: school - college - university.
Currently, KGUSTA has 8 institutes, 14 faculties, 4 colleges, 4 centers, and 2 branches.
The university trains specialists in the fields of: Architecture and Design, Construction, Economics, Ecology, Transport and Communication, New Information Technologies, Foreign Languages, Tourism, Solar Energy, and others.
The first rector of the Kyrgyz Architectural and Construction Institute, and later KGUSTA, was Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Tentiev Jumabek Tentievich.
Engineering Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic

The further development of the engineering direction in Kyrgyzstan was the establishment of the Institute of Automation and Mining Engineering within the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. Based on these and other institutes, the Engineering Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic (IAKR) was organized in 1990.
The organizer and first president of the Engineering Academy was Academician O.D.Alimov.
Currently, the president of the IAKR is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Academician Abdraimov Samudin.
Osh Technological University
Osh Technological University (OshTU) was founded by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on February 24, 1996, based on the Osh Higher Technological College and is the only higher educational institution in southern Kyrgyzstan preparing highly qualified specialists in engineering and technological fields for enterprises in industry, energy, transport, ecology, natural resource management, financial and tax organizations, management and legal structures, foreign trade firms, and secondary specialized educational institutions, schools.
The first rector of the university was Professor Kupuyev P.K., followed by Professors Murzubraimov B.M., Toktoraliyev B.A.
Currently, the rector is Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sharshenaliev Zhanibek Sharshenalievich.
Jalal-Abad State University
Jalal-Abad State University (JAGU) was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on April 2, 1993, based on reorganized educational institutions: a pedagogical college, a veterinary technical school (Jalal-Abad), branches of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute (Kara-Kul, Tash-Kumyr), a instrumentation technical school (Kochkor-Ata), and an electrical engineering technical school (Mayluu-Suu) to meet the needs of the southern region of the Kyrgyz Republic for highly qualified specialists in education, electronics, energy, industry, and agriculture (across 11 faculties).
The rectors of JAGU have included Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Brimkulov U.N., Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bekbolotov T.B. Since 2000, the rector of the university has been Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Bokoshev Jamgyrbek.
Kyrgyz-Uzbek University
Kyrgyz-Uzbek University (KUU) was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on March 31, 1997, based on the higher technological college opened in 1994.
KUU is an educational, scientific, and cultural center that trains qualified specialists across 11 faculties for the fields of education, healthcare, law, management, business, tourism, and more.
The university has a training-scientific-production complex. Research is conducted in 4 scientific centers.
Education is conducted based on the principles of trilingualism in Russian, Kyrgyz, and Uzbek, with an in-depth study of the English language.
Since its establishment, KUU has been led by its rector, Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mamasayidov Makhamadjan Tashalievich.
Technological University "Dastan"

Technological University "Dastan" is the first non-state educational institution specializing in technical and technological fields. It was established in 1994.
The university prepares specialists in the following specialties: materials and components of electronic equipment, radio engineering, radio communication, television and broadcasting, biotechnical and medical devices and systems, mathematical operations in economics, management and marketing (by sectors), documentation and documentation support for management.
The founder and first rector is Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Osmonaliev Kanybek.
Naryn State University
Naryn State University (NSU) was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on May 22, 1996, to promote the economic and social development of the education system, improve the quality of personnel training, and centralize the scientific and educational potential of the Naryn region.
NSU is a comprehensive educational institution that includes an Agricultural Technical School, a Pedagogical College, a Center for Advanced Training and Retraining of Specialists, an Internet Center, and a School-Lyceum. The educational activities of the university are conducted in 25 departments serving 6 faculties: economic, legal, agrarian-technical, natural-humanitarian, philological, and new information technologies.
The first rector who organized NSU was Professor Jamankulov Zhanat Medetovich. Currently, the rector is Professor Akmataliev Almazbek Akmatalievich.
Bishkek State Institute of Economics and Commerce
Bishkek State Institute of Economics and Commerce (BGIEK) was opened in 1997 by the Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and is a specialized state higher educational institution of economic profile. Currently, the institute has 3 educational buildings, a scientific library, a multimedia technology laboratory, a training and production complex, 4 faculties, and 16 departments.
The organizing committee of the "Association for the Promotion of Industry" in France recognized BGIEK as the laureate of the honorary French award "Golden Medal of the Association for the Promotion of Industry" for 2001.
The rector of the educational institution is Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Kamchibekov Tolobek Kadyralievich.
