On February 4, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Zhanibek Abirov raised the issue of low salaries for technical and junior support staff in schools.

He reported that last week he visited schools in the Lenin district of Bishkek and spoke with the staff of secondary school No. 74. The deputy reminded that on December 25, President Sadyr Japarov announced plans to increase teachers' salaries starting in April.

Although the school staff expressed gratitude for this decision, Abirov emphasized the difficult situation of technical workers — cleaners, janitors, kitchen staff, and security guards.

According to him, the salary of junior support and technical staff is only 8,448 soms with a coefficient of 1.20. For comparison, the salary of a secretary is 8,800 soms, while that of a facility manager is 12,320 soms. The deputy stressed that considering inflation and rising prices in Bishkek, it is extremely difficult to survive on an amount of about 8,500–9,000 soms.

Abirov inquired whether the salaries of technical and junior support staff would be increased starting in April. If no increase is planned, he urged that the opinions of citizens be conveyed to the Cabinet of Ministers and that the possibility of raising their salaries or reviewing the wage coefficients be considered.
