More than 18,000 children with disabilities study in regular schools, - Ministry of Education

In Kyrgyzstan, 327 correctional classes operate in 44 schools, where 4,270 children study under an inclusive program, Gulshan Abdildaeva reported at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Labor, Health, Women’s Affairs, and Social Issues.

Additionally, the country has 9 specialized schools with 2,910 students, as well as 14 boarding schools with 2,300 pupils.

In total, more than 18,000 children with disabilities receive education in regular schools.

Deputy Nurjamal Torobekova proposed the introduction of tutoring support to assist parents. However, a representative from the Ministry of Education noted that such a form of support is not currently provided.
