In order to prevent citizens from being involved in banned organizations, the State National Security Committee (GKNB), together with the National Agency for Religious Affairs and Interethnic Relations, as well as the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (DUMK), regularly conducts preventive measures in educational institutions.

According to the information from the GKNB press service dated February 20, there is a problem of insufficient awareness among the population about traditional Islam, which leads to cases of people being drawn into the ideologies of various extremist groups. These organizations seek to spread radical religious and political ideas that contradict the principles of a secular state and the current legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Security services also report that recruitment is taking place through social networks.

In this regard, since the beginning of the year, informational and explanatory events have been organized in educational institutions such as the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin, the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razakov, and the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn in Bishkek.

“The priority is to enhance religious literacy, develop critical thinking, and strengthen traditional spiritual and moral values, as well as interfaith harmony,” emphasized representatives of the GKNB.
