On October 4, the third citywide Festival 'Eco-Bashtyk-2014' will take place at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev.
According to the organizers, the goal of the festival is to draw public attention to environmental issues and reduce plastic waste pollution in the city. By holding annual festivals in collaboration with student and creative youth groups and youth organizations, the festival aims to raise the ecological culture of the population, change the mindset of city residents towards conscious consumption, and transform Bishkek into an eco-city.
As part of the Festival, competitions will be held in the following categories:
- Eco-bags. Participants are required to design, create, and present models of eco-bags (no more than 5 from each group of participants). The materials for making the bags should be recycled materials (e.g., used items, umbrellas, etc.).
- Videos. The video should draw viewers' attention to the environmental problems of the city and raise the ecological culture of the population. The duration of the video should not exceed 5 minutes, and the format is free. The video must not contain scenes of violence, profanity, violate ethical norms, or infringe on copyright. Completed videos must be submitted by September 30.
- Posters. The posters should be on environmental themes, created under the slogan "No to plastic waste!". The format of the posters is free. For evaluation by the jury, the poster must be printed or made in paper form.
- Project proposal for improving the ecological state of Bishkek. The project must be realistic, relevant, economical, and adapted to the climatic and geographical conditions of the region. The project should be presented in the form of slides or posters. The jury will include representatives from the Bishkek city hall and other government agencies. The presentation duration should not exceed 10 minutes. Final versions of the projects must be submitted by September 30, 2014.
Conditions for participation in the 'Eco-Bashtyk-2014' festival competitions:
