At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Tursunbaev raised an important issue regarding the landfill in the village of Iskra, located in the Chui region.
According to him, official data indicates that the area of this landfill is 2.9 hectares.
“Currently, the landfill is filled to 99%. Its operational resource is almost exhausted. Moreover, its location is concerning: it is situated on the windy side, which creates a risk of rapid fire spread in case of ignition. Emergency response services often do not manage to localize the fire in time, posing a serious threat to the ecology and health of local residents,” the deputy noted.
As a solution to the problem, Tursunbaev proposed either to create a waste processing enterprise or to build a new modern landfill. However, implementing these plans will require a plot of land of at least 5 hectares.
