More than 6000 meters of fishing nets were removed from the bottom of Lake Issyk-Kul

In the first three months of 2026, over 6000 meters of old fishing nets, produced in China, were removed from Lake Issyk-Kul. This was reported by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The mentioned nets cause significant harm to fish stocks and pose a serious threat to the lake's ecosystem.

The Ministry's Eco-Monitoring will continue to conduct regular raids aimed at combating poaching in the Issyk-Kul region.
