According to information voiced by Suyorkul Ashimjan uulu, the chief specialist of the forecasting, control, and monitoring department of the financial market regulation and supervision service, by 2027, the minimum authorized capital of pawnshops in Kyrgyzstan will be no less than 20 million soms. This data was presented during a live broadcast of the program "Elden Sobol" by the Kabar agency.

Ashimjan uulu noted that the increase in authorized capital will occur in stages. Currently, in 2022, it was 1 million soms. From January 1, 2025, it is planned that this figure will rise to 3 million soms.

“Furthermore, starting from July 1, 2026, the minimum authorized capital of pawnshops should reach 7 million soms. It will then be raised to 14 million, and by 2027, it will be at least 20 million soms. We are working on the corresponding project,” the specialist added.

He also emphasized that pawnshops can only accept movable property from citizens. According to current legislation, the acceptance of real estate, such as apartments and land plots, is prohibited.

“Pawnshops have the right to accept only movable property as collateral, including cars, mobile phones, and gold items, as well as to provide short-term loans,” concluded Ashimjan uulu.
