In the territory of the Turt-Gul rural administration, located in the southeastern part of the village of Jany-Zher, work has begun on the installation of a modern drip irrigation system on additional developed land plots related to the irrigation zone of the R-4 canal. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The project involves the installation of drip irrigation over an area of 143 hectares, and construction work started in the second half of January 2026.
The ministry noted that the main advantages of drip irrigation lie in the rational and economical use of water resources, as well as in delivering water directly to the roots of plants, which significantly reduces losses and contributes to increased yields while preventing soil salinization.
Furthermore, the implementation of this system reduces labor costs and improves the efficiency of water and fertilizer use. The main goal of the project is to enhance irrigation efficiency, adapt to climate change, and ensure sustainable agricultural development.
