At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Gulsharkan Kultaeva proposed an initiative to limit the issuance of loans to citizens under the age of 25.
She emphasized that young people often apply for online loans without being aware of all the associated conditions, including interest rates and penalties, and do not inform their parents about it.
“Some microfinance organizations issue loans to individuals aged 18 to 25. Many young people do not have permanent jobs and are supported by their parents. Is it possible to establish some restrictions on such loans?” - Kultaeva asked.
In response, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Medet Tairov stated that the regulator is already working on addressing this issue.
