During a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to issues of industrial policy, transport, and construction, Deputy Minister of Construction Talantbek Imanakun uulu clarified the situation regarding high salaries in the department. According to him, only 4–5 employees receive a salary of 500,000 soms.
Deputy Bakhridin Shabazov asked about the number of workers who have such high wages. The deputy minister specified that these specialists are involved in design and preparation of drawings, and their work is divided into several areas: architectural, engineering, and structural.
“When the cost of a project is 500,000 soms and is divided among 4–5 specialists, each of them receives about 100,000 soms,” explained Imanakun uulu.
Shabazov also noted that a positive aspect is that the Ministry of Construction independently carries out the design work. According to him, thanks to this, the cost of services ranges from 7 to 10 dollars per square meter, while private companies may charge up to 15 dollars for the same volume of work.
