At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee dedicated to issues of industrial policy, architecture, and construction, Deputy Minister of Construction Talant Imankun uulu explained the situation regarding the high salaries of ministry employees, which reach 500,000 soms.
Imankun uulu noted that architecture is a rare and highly qualified field that requires 6–7 years of training. Private architects working on projects earn between 15 to 20 dollars per square meter. Previously, before the establishment of the Architecture Department, design work was carried out only by private specialists.
“Currently, we have formed a Department and invited the best professionals in this field. It is important to set salaries in accordance with market conditions,” emphasized the Deputy Minister.
The Deputy also reported that there are only eight technologists in the republic who are necessary for the construction of facilities, especially in the healthcare sector.
He explained that 2,236 employees of the Ministry of Construction do not receive funding from the state, as the ministry is self-sufficient and pays taxes to the budget.
In addition, Imankun uulu shared that his own salary is 64,000 soms, while many employees earn around 45,000 soms.
