
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Industrial Policy and Energy, the Ministry of Energy shared information about current initiatives in the field of renewable energy sources (RES) in Kyrgyzstan.
According to Minister Talaybek Ibraev, 13 investment agreements have been signed for the construction of solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of 650 MW, and several large projects are in the active implementation stage.
“A 100 MW power plant in the Kemin district of Chui region will be commissioned on December 24, 2025. In addition, a Vietnamese company has begun work on the construction of a solar station with a capacity of 1900 MW on an area of 2116 hectares. The company 'Unigrin' plans to complete another 300 MW by 2026, and a 100 MW wind power plant from 'Rosatom' is also being prepared for launch,” the minister noted.
Ibraev emphasized that all RES projects are of great importance for diversifying Kyrgyzstan's energy sector, improving energy efficiency, and creating environmentally friendly electricity production.
