During his working trip to the southern regions, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov visited the Dostuk pumping station, located in the village of Ken-Sai, in the Burgondu-Dostuk area of the Nooken district in the Jalal-Abad region.

The Ministry reported that during the trip, the issue of preparation for spring fieldwork was also discussed.

The Dostuk pumping station was commissioned in 1970. It consists of two sections and includes 6 pumping units, each with a power of 1600 kW, totaling 9600 kW. The station draws water from the Naryn River (Left Bank Naryn Canal) and provides a capacity of 1.6 m³/s, allowing for the irrigation of 1628 hectares of agricultural land.

Currently, in the first section, two out of three units are operational, with one as a backup. The length of the machine channel to the state border is 10.2 km.

To launch the second section, more than 53 million 581 thousand soms are required for the installation of pumping units, modernization of electrical equipment, commissioning works, and covering electricity costs.

The Ministry of Agriculture notes that the capacities of the first section are currently used to meet internal irrigation needs, making the issue of launching the second section particularly relevant for increasing water supply.

Following the visit, Akunbekov instructed the responsible services to improve the technical condition of the pumping station, consider the issue of launching the second section, and ensure a stable supply of irrigation water during the spring fieldwork period.
