According to the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection, access to dozens of websites has been restricted due to their connection with gambling. The agency received information about 86 resources that need to be blocked, of which about 70 have already been disabled.
As reported by "Gazeta," most of the identified websites specialize in betting services, but there are also resources related to entertainment, music, and cinema.
The Committee emphasizes that there is ongoing monitoring of internet resources offering gambling and services with elements of risk. According to Article 46 of the Advertising Law, advertising of gambling is prohibited in Uzbekistan.
Starting from January 1, 2025, a presidential decree will allow the organization of risky games on the internet and betting activities based on licenses issued by the National Agency for Prospective Projects. However, the law, which was approved by the chambers of parliament in early 2023, has not yet been signed by the president.
