The organization "Distribution Electric Networks" has sent instructions to its local branches regarding the introduction of restrictions for certain categories of consumers. However, the duration of these measures is not specified.
Among the new restrictions:
- Disconnection of first group consumers (up to 5 kilowatts, excluding Dushanbe), including both industrial and non-industrial facilities;
- "Smart" meters must be disconnected from the electricity accounting system in the established manner;
- Electricity supply to budget organizations and state enterprises will be suspended from 6:00 PM until the start of the next working day;
- Street lighting not related to strategically important facilities must be turned off;
- Charging stations for electric vehicles will be disconnected from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
These electricity supply limits began to take effect in Tajikistan at the end of September. Representatives of the electricity distribution company explained the need for disconnections and restrictions due to the decrease in water levels in the Nurek Reservoir, but the reasons for this decrease are not disclosed.
