In connection with the introduction of new rules, the company "Distribution Electric Networks" of Tajikistan has sent instructions to its branches regarding the reduction of electricity supply for certain categories of users. The information about the duration of these restrictions has not yet been specified.
According to company representatives, the power outages are related to the low water level in the Nurek Reservoir, which has necessitated the introduction of these measures.
Among the introduced restrictions:
- users in the first group with a capacity of up to 5 kW (excluding the city of Dushanbe), including both industrial and non-industrial facilities, will be disconnected from the power grid;
- "smart meters" will also be temporarily disconnected from electricity accounting in the established manner;
- electricity supply to budget institutions and state enterprises will be suspended from 6:00 PM until the beginning of the next working day;
- street lighting not related to strategically important facilities will be turned off;
- all charging stations for electric vehicles will be turned off from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
