New measures to limit electricity supply have been introduced in Tajikistan, reports the local news outlet Asia-Plus.

Branches of the company "Distribution Electric Networks" have received orders to impose restrictions for certain categories of consumers.

The list of restrictions includes:The duration of these restrictions has not been specified. The reason for the disconnections is cited as the low water level in the Nurek Reservoir.

The situation is more serious than ours

Electricity supply restrictions in Tajikistan have been in effect since the last decade of September. Representatives of the electricity distribution company explain the frequent disconnections by the low water level in the Nurek Reservoir, which is 2 meters lower compared to last year. However, it is not specified what exactly caused the decrease in the water level in the reservoir.

According to government data, the population of the country (except for Dushanbe) receives electricity in the morning — from 05:30 to 08:00 and in the evening — from 17:30 to 21:00. Nevertheless, residents of the regions report that electricity is available only for two hours in the morning and evening. In recent days, disconnections have also affected some areas of Dushanbe, leaving residents without power for several hours.
