The volume of bank lending in November 2025 decreased for the first time in nearly 5 years

According to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, in November 2025, there was the first decline in the volume of bank lending in almost five years when viewed on a year-on-year basis.

During the month, financial institutions issued loans totaling 34.3 billion soms, which is 7.3% less compared to November 2024.

Prior to this month in 2025, the volume of lending had shown growth, ranging from 13.5% to 79.4% compared to the same periods of the previous year.

As a measure to improve the accessibility of loans, the Ministry of Economy proposed to reduce the retention period of negative credit histories.
