On January 19, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor detained a truck driver at the "Sagarchin" checkpoint who was attempting to illegally transport 24 horses. These animals were being transported from Kabardino-Balkaria to Kyrgyzstan to participate in sports competitions, as reported by the agency's press service.
It was reported that the transportation of the horses was carried out with gross violations of veterinary regulations. The animals were not registered in the relevant accounting systems. Moreover, the sender did not carry out the mandatory preventive measures aimed at preventing the spread of particularly dangerous diseases that can affect both humans and animals.
The returned animals were sent back to their place of origin, and the transporter was held administratively liable.
