According to media reports, Shajloobek Atazov was released under a travel ban after being detained in the autumn of 2025 on suspicion of organizing mass riots.
It was previously reported that another former deputy, Kubanychbek Kadyrov, was also released from custody.
It is worth recalling that on November 22, 2025, mass arrests occurred when the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the suppression of the activities of a destructive group that was preparing disturbances after the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh. Several political figures were detained during the operation, including former deputies and the son of former president Almazbek Atambayev. According to law enforcement agencies, the total number of detainees was 10, all of whom were remanded in custody by court decision:
- Temirlan Sultanbekov;
- Shajloobek Atazov (former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh);
- Ermek Ermatov (reported to be the driver of Temirlan Sultanbekov);
- Damir Musakeev (former head of the Ninth Service of the GKNB and deputy chairman of the special services, head of state security for Almazbek Atambayev);
- Kadyr Atambaev (son of former president Almazbek Atambayev);
- Urmаt Askarbekov (entrepreneur Urmat Baryktabasov);
- Kubanychbek Kadyrov (former deputy);
- A. u. E., born in 1993;
- K.N., born in 1993;
- Sh.T., born in 1986.
The detainees are charged under Articles 36 "Preparation for a Crime," 41 "Types of Accomplices," 278 "Organization of Mass Riots," and 326 "Violent Seizure of Power" of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan.
