In her post, Asel Azamatova detailed that her life with Eldar Sulaymanov, who became a deputy in early 2022, was full of violence. She recounted that in the summer of 2022, after one of the beatings, she was hospitalized, and she filed a complaint with the police. However, Asel claims that law enforcement never inquired about her condition.
Asel also noted that despite forgiving her husband a few months later, his behavior, including alcohol binges and infidelity, did not change, and ultimately she made the decision to divorce.
Sultan Makilov, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported that verification actions have been initiated regarding this case. He noted that they are waiting for the former spouse to clarify the circumstances of the incident and to review all previously submitted statements.
At present, Eldar Sulaymanov is 40 years old. He was elected to parliament from constituency No. 5 in the elections held in November 2025.
