During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu stated that none of the proposed options for a new anthem were deemed worthy.
He noted: "At yesterday's committee meeting, we listened to all the proposed options, but none of them were suitable."
The Speaker clarified that the main goal of this initiative is not to replace the current anthem, but to create a piece that all citizens, from 7-year-old children to elderly people, could remember and perform.
Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu added that many of the proposed musical compositions have a march style.
"It is important for the anthem to sound free. We must move away from the march that was relevant during the Soviet era," he emphasized.
The Speaker also reported that the competition for creating a new anthem will continue, and everyone is welcome to participate. Additionally, according to him, special prizes for competition participants have been approved in collaboration with the country's president.
