The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, spoke at a meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the results of the work for 2025 were summarized and the main tasks for the current year were outlined.

In his speech, he highlighted the most important achievements, noting that the resolution of issues at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border became a significant political success of 2025.

Kasymaliev added that the number of countries with which the Kyrgyz Republic established diplomatic relations reached 185, and the first embassy was opened on the African continent. Throughout the year, 190 events took place, and 633 international agreements and documents were signed.

Moreover, he reminded that today marks five years since Sadyr Japarov took office as president.

“Comparing the state of affairs in the country in 2020 and now allows us to speak of colossal changes; this can be characterized as night and day. Many significant projects have been implemented, and in 2025, the consolidated budget exceeded 1 trillion soms,” he noted.

Kasymaliev also highlighted a number of factors that contributed to budget growth, including economic growth: the country's GDP increased from $8.3 billion in 2020 to more than $22.6 billion in 2025. Tax revenues increased fourfold, customs revenues sixfold, and non-tax revenues eight to nine times. There is also an increase in economic activity in construction, trade, services, agriculture, and industry, while revenues from the activities of "Kumtor" amounted to over $5 billion due to rising global gold prices.

In his speech, he emphasized the need to develop practical solutions in the field of multimodal transport, digital logistics, and transport connectivity, as well as to promote projects in wind and solar energy, small hydropower plants, and support for attracting investments in large tourism projects.

“In addition, Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and preparations for the summit in Bishkek in 2026 are of particular importance. We need to continue the work of the Ministry to promote Kyrgyzstan's candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027–2028,” he added, giving a number of instructions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
