During the last meeting, Deputy Umbetaly Kydyraliev asked about the number of diplomatic missions that Kyrgyzstan has abroad.
Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz Imangaziev informed that as of today, the republic has 33 embassies, 10 consulates general, and 2 representations in international organizations.
Kydyraliev also inquired about how many buildings are owned by the state of Kyrgyzstan and how many of them are rented.
In response, Imangaziev stated that currently, the country owns 14 buildings, 5 residences, and 31 apartments. For example, the building in Belgium is owned by Kyrgyzstan, while in England a rented space is being used.
The deputy expressed concern that many of these properties have been rented for many years, leading to significant financial costs.
"If the necessary buildings had been acquired 15 years ago, it would have reduced expenses. We need to have our own real estate in key geostrategic countries, especially those with a visa-free regime," the parliamentarian noted.
Imangaziev added that since the beginning of 2023, at the instruction of the president, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been actively engaged in acquiring real estate abroad.
"This year, embassy buildings in Hungary and Paris have been acquired, and in 2024, the purchase of four service apartments in Berlin and Seoul is planned. Currently, negotiations are underway for the purchase of a building in Vienna, and acquisitions in England and Tokyo are also scheduled for 2026," he emphasized.
