
According to the court's decision in St. Petersburg, Ekaterina Bivol must complete 60 hours of community service for her offensive statements.
Her prosecution was based on Article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation regarding incitement of hatred and humiliation of dignity.
An expert examination confirmed the presence of elements of inciting hatred between nations and claims of superiority of one national group in her words. Furthermore, the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan announced the initiation of criminal prosecution and the possibility of extraditing Bivol, who is now wanted in Kazakhstan.
