The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the U.S. Embassy discussed changes in American visa policy

On January 30, a meeting initiated by the Kyrgyz Republic took place in Bishkek between Seytek Jumaakadyrov, the director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Kate Collins, the head of the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

During this meeting, important issues regarding consular cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Special attention was given to the recent changes in the visa policy of the United States.

Kyrgyz representatives emphasized the need to continue a constructive dialogue on visa issues in order to find mutually acceptable solutions.

The American side also highlighted points concerning compliance with the visa regime by citizens of Kyrgyzstan and expressed interest in further discussions on these matters.

As a result of the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to continue strengthening cooperation in the field of consular relations.
