As a result of the conducted measures, 16 pawnshops were sealed, while inspections of the others are ongoing.
Additionally, in order to prevent the inflation of interest rates (which should not exceed 30%) and to comply with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the Limitation of Usurious Activities" No. 163 dated July 24, 2013, explanatory work was carried out with the owners and staff of the pawnshops.
The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic urges citizens to be vigilant and thoroughly review the documents they sign when receiving loans and other transactions related to property.
