In Dubai, a ministerial roundtable was held as part of the World Government Summit, where Bakyt Torobayev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, participated. This was reported by the government of Kyrgyzstan.
In his speech, Bakyt Torobayev emphasized that humanity is facing systemic challenges related to climate, water resources, food, and social aspects. In these conditions, it is necessary to transition to comprehensive and long-term risk management to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Particular attention was paid to the issue of water resource scarcity, which is exacerbated by climate change.
Kyrgyzstan, being a mountainous country and a source of rivers in Central Asia, recognizes its responsibility for protecting the region's water ecosystems and actively raises issues of water security on the international stage.
