In 2026, the World Nomad Games will take place in the Kyrgyz Republic, with the participation of athletes and guests expected from at least 100 different countries. Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, announced this at an off-site meeting held at the racetrack in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region, dedicated to the preparations for this event.
During the meeting, participants discussed key aspects of the preparations for this important cultural and sports event, including organizational work, the state of infrastructure, and conditions for foreign guests.
According to the information provided, the prize fund for the games will amount to approximately 4 million soms. It is also planned to conduct the main types of national and equestrian competitions, which will help showcase the nomadic culture and traditions of the Kyrgyz people on the international stage.
During his working trip, Bakyt Torobaev familiarized himself with the condition of the racetrack in Cholpon-Ata and gave instructions for improving infrastructure, preparatory work, and creating conditions that meet international standards. He emphasized the need for quality preparations within the established deadlines and instructed local and state authorities to take this under control.
