The Housing Committee approved in the first reading amendments to the laws "On the Protection of Plant Life" and "On the Development of Agriculture"

- On February 9, 2026, during a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection, a draft law concerning amendments to certain legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic was reviewed and supported in the first reading, specifically regarding the laws "On the Protection and Use of Plant Life" and "On the Development of Agriculture."

The aim of this draft law is to improve legal regulation in the area of plant life protection and agricultural support.

The proposed amendments are aimed at clarifying the norms related to the use of plant resources, increasing responsibility for violations, as well as supporting farmers in the field of crop production and harmonizing with other laws.

The Committee approved the draft law in the first reading.
