At the meeting attended by the President, Madiev detailed plans for improving digital infrastructure. He noted that next year, more than 90% of villages will also be able to connect to fiber-optic communication, and all republican roads will be equipped with the necessary infrastructure.
“At your request, since December of last year, all border points already have access to the internet. In addition, the internet will be available on the main routes of passenger transportation by ‘Қазақстан темір жолы’. For the first time, users will be able to use the internet on board the planes of our airlines,” added Madiev.
The minister emphasized that the creation of digital infrastructure will not only meet the needs of the population of Kazakhstan but will also strengthen its position as a leader in ensuring digital connectivity in the region.
Satellite internet through gate stations built by Starlink in Kazakhstan will also become available to neighboring countries. This year, traffic will be directed to Tajikistan, and connections to Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan are also expected. Uzbekistan has already proposed off-take contracts for the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic communication line,” concluded Madiev.
