Moreover, people are asking for help in obtaining passports and identity documents, as well as in protecting their rights to freedom of religion.
12 individuals reached out for assistance regarding extradition matters.
Each request received due attention and processing in accordance with the mandate of the Ombudsman Institute. This included legal consultations and official letters to government bodies demanding the restoration of violated rights.
Citizens outside the country also contact the Akıykatçı Institute. Last year, 14 requests were registered from Russia, 8 from Uzbekistan, 2 from Kazakhstan, and 1 from Belarus.
The Institute also protects the rights of foreign citizens on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. In 2025, 3 requests were received from Turkish citizens, and legal assistance was provided to citizens from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Egypt.
In 2025, the staff of the Akıykatçı Institute conducted 811 monitoring visits, including 328 in places of detention, 90 in military units, 48 in stationary social institutions, 133 in educational institutions, and 54 in medical facilities.
As a result of work with citizens' requests, the institute sent 141 response acts to government bodies, of which 122 were executed.
Response acts are official documents prepared upon identifying violations to rectify them and hold the responsible parties accountable.
The majority of such acts were sent to healthcare, education, law enforcement, and local administration institutions.
As a result, 109 officials and employees of government institutions were held accountable, including 15 law enforcement personnel.
Jamila Jamambaeva emphasizes that the protection of human rights and freedoms is the foundation for a stable and developed state. She calls for active cooperation from government bodies in this area.
