The city of Manas has granted Ankara the status of the tourist capital of the Turkic world.

On December 17, a ceremony took place in Manas during which the city of Ankara was granted the status of tourist capital of the Turkic world.

The event was attended by the mayor of Manas, Ernisbek Ormokov, the chairman of the city council, Nurtilek Bolotov, as well as a delegation from Turkey led by the deputy governor of Ankara, Izzettin Sevgili.

During the festivities, a theatrical program dedicated to the historical friendship and cultural ties between the two peoples was presented. Musical pieces by Kyrgyz and Turkish composers were also performed.

Mayor Ernisbek Ormokov emphasized in his address the importance of establishing strong friendly ties with Ankara. He noted that cooperation between the two cities would create opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships in the fields of tourism, culture, education, and local self-government.

Deputy Governor of Ankara Izzettin Sevgili expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and invited the leadership of Manas for an official visit to Ankara.

The event concluded with the official handing over of the status of tourist capital, when Ormokov presented a symbolic key to Izzettin Sevgili.

It should be noted that based on the initiative of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and with the support of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Manas was declared the tourist capital of the Turkic world for 2025.
