The international organization TURKSOY declared Aktau the cultural capital of the Turkish world in 2025. The opening of this status took place on April 5 in this seaside city located on the shores of the Caspian Sea during a corresponding ceremony.
During the meeting held in Aktau, Minister of Culture Mirbek Mambetaliev and TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev also discussed the possibility that the city of Talas may be declared the cultural capital of the Turkish world in 2028, according to Raev.
